“strike a smile” TWITTER SWEEPSTAKEs
THE ASK
In 2016, Crest wanted to grow their Millennial female following on social during the Grammys.
THE IDEA
Together, we launched #StrikeASmile, a Twitter activation aimed at harnessing the popularity of selfies and the high chance of engagement spikes during televised live events. The instructions were simple: follow @Crest and @R29 and reply with a smiling selfie for a chance to be illustrated onto the red carpet — live— by one of our favorite illustrators.
THE RESULTS
We received nearly 500 submissions (and followers for both ourselves and Crest) during the show, and selected 100 of them for artists Samantha Hahn, Meryl Rowin, and Marina Esmeraldo to illustrate and post that evening.
